A renewal, not a restart: how Global Mediator grew in 2025
December 4, 2025
From the Steppe to the Cloud
Global Mediator delivers services from the steppes of Ukraine and Romania regions where, thousands of years ago, the Scythians used the Tree of Life as a symbol of the connection between sky, earth, and the underworld. Later it evolved through Ukrainian folklore and Viking mythology, always representing renewal, strength, and balance.
The Tree of Life still resonates with us today. In many ways, it mirrors what we do by helping businesses grow by renewing and strengthening the digital foundations that connect their systems, data, and people. This idea of renewal, not restart, captures both the essence of our work in optimizing business solutions and the evolution we’ve gone through as an organization this year.
Strengthening our roots
We took time out during the year for a strategy review. After more than three years of steering the business through geopolitical events beyond our control, this was a needed exercise. It felt like the right moment to pause and reflect on what we were doing and why.
One of the interesting outcomes, especially in this new world of AI, is that ‘culture has become strategy’. In other words, unless an organization’s culture is aligned with AI values (experimentation, data-driven behavior, risk tolerance, continuous learning, etc.), even the best technology or strategy for AI will still fall short.
Fortunately, our culture gives us a real major advantage in this transition. Like many others, we must continuously improve our skills in data and automation using AI. We're already in a strong position to succeed because of how we work, think, and learn together.
“This idea of renewal, not restart, captures both the essence of our work in optimizing business solutions and the evolution we’ve gone through as an organization this year.”
- Nicolai Krarup, COO at Global Mediator
Extending our branches
This year we continued building the systems that support our business, now spanning 11 countries. One key focus this year has been on redesigning our Software Development Lifecycle to reflect what we specialize in: building, migrating, and reimplementing complex solutions on the cloud, the cloud-native way.
To support the team’s growth and ensure a better match to increasingly challenging projects, we rebuilt our skill matrix and started applying it more rigorously in team member talks, internal trainings, and even in our billing through a detailed rate card.
We increased our focus on maintenance, enhancements, and digitalization after go-live, recognizing that cloud environments demand constant attention. With vendors such as Microsoft continuously pushing updates, there is simply no time to sleep on the cloud.
Growing new leaves
With Discovery X-ray, our Customer Portal, and a redesigned website, we have opened the door to new opportunities and customers. The impact of this redesign of our business profile has been clear - our conversations are no longer only about what we can do to help our customers, but about how we can do it together using best practice.
Our relationship with Crayon, now part of SoftwareOne, has created a pipeline of new learnings and possibilities. As an engineering house, we have further deepened our understanding of working within the broader Microsoft ecosystem and gained a clear view of the total cost picture faced by our customers. This, in turn, gives us a sharper insight into how we can best support them and their partners.
Our Tree of Life year
We strengthened our roots, building the systems and foundations that hold us steady. We focused our core, sharpening our margins, streamlining our processes, rediscovering the rhythm of healthy growth. New branches are reaching upward from that trunk: fresh opportunities, new partnerships, and a renewed sense of momentum.
We didn’t start over. We evolved, ring by ring, from strength to strength. Our culture is the reason why we are rooted in the past, alive in the present, and always moving towards the light. A big thank you to our customers for giving us strength and to the amazing people who carry us forward.
